Some people think they can tell who has HIV. Some people think it's related to race, or gender, or sexual orientation. Teens need to know that anyone can get HIV -- and that the number of known cases of HIV among 13- to 19-year-olds is getting higher.

This engaging presentation can help teens learn how HIV is a disease without a cure, and that they could be putting themselves at risk for contracting it. They'll learn how they can get HIV, how unprotected sex increases their risk for HIV, how different forms of birth control affect their risk,* and how abstinence is the safest choice they can make.

This presentation will let you quickly and easily educate teens about:

  • how HIV is passed from one person to another
  • choices they face regarding sex and HIV
  • what kinds of situations put them at especially high risk
  • how to create a "safety net" that will help them stay HIV-free.

*The PowerPoint CD also includes a version of this presentation that does not discuss condom use and that is consistent with abstinence-only requirements. Click here for the presentation "Abstinence For Teens." It features an abstinence-based approach to preventing STDs and pregnancy.

Package also includes 50 copies of the realistically illustrated booklet "HIV And AIDS -- Facts For Young People" (41350)A.
