There was a time when people thought drug use was really only a problem in the inner city, or that cocaine was a drug only the rich could afford. But the truth is that young people everywhere -- of any race or class -- are at risk for drug use. No family is immune from the threat.

Studies have shown that children who learn about the risks of drugs from their parents or caregivers are less likely to use drugs. And parents who are closely involved in the lives of their children tend to raise children who are more optimistic about the future, more motivated in school, and more committed to the idea that using drugs is wrong. This presentation gives parents the tools to exert a positive influence on their children to help them stay away from drugs and lead healthy, productive lives.

This presentation will let you quickly and easily educate parents on:

  • the scope of the problem and drug-use trends and patterns
  • the reasons some young people use drugs
  • "gateway" drugs, including alcohol and tobacco
  • the dangers of specific drugs, including those that are new and those that have been around for a while
  • talking with their child about remaining drug-free
  • warning signs of drug use, and what to do if they suspect their child is using drugs.

English package includes 25 copies each of these realistically illustrated booklets:
"Raising Your Child To Be Drug-Free" (74792)A
